Glass Door Cleaning Cincinnati

Glass doors are the most touched surfaces in any home or business. Every person who enters or exits grabs them, pushes them, pulls them, and presses against them. Kids press their faces against patio doors to look outside. Dogs nose print every glass door within reach. Restaurant customers push through entry doors dozens or hundreds of times a day leaving fingerprints, palm prints, and smudges on every surface they contact. Office employees badge through glass doors constantly throughout the workday. Retail customers pull on storefront entry doors all day long. No other glass surface in a building takes the kind of constant direct human contact that glass doors deal with every single day. And because they're doors, people notice them. They're the first glass surface every visitor to your home or business interacts with directly. Clean glass doors make an immediate impression. Dirty ones make a different kind of immediate impression.

We do glass door cleaning for homes and businesses throughout Greater Cincinnati and Butler County. Every type of glass door, every situation, done right.

Types of Glass Doors Throughout Cincinnati Homes and Businesses

Cincinnati homes and businesses have a wide variety of glass door types and each one has its own specific cleaning considerations.

Sliding patio doors are one of the most common glass door types throughout Greater Cincinnati. Homes in Anderson Township, Blue Ash, Montgomery, and throughout Butler County with rear decks and patios almost universally have sliding glass patio doors. These doors have large glass panels that take constant contact from inside and significant exterior exposure from outside. The lower portion of the exterior panel gets mud and rain splash from the ground level. The interior surface gets fingerprints, nose prints, and smudging at every height from floor level to adult hand height. The frames and tracks collect debris from both sides.

French doors are extremely common in the historic neighborhoods throughout Cincinnati. Hyde Park, Mariemont, and Mount Lookout homes frequently have French doors both as exterior entry doors and as interior passage doors between rooms. French door glass requires the same individual pane attention as French pane windows and gets the same careful treatment from us.

Entry door glass and sidelights are the first thing visitors see when they approach a Cincinnati home or business. Full glass entry doors, half glass entry doors, and the sidelights flanking entry doors in homes throughout Indian Hill, Montgomery, and the larger custom builds in West Chester and Mason are all high visibility glass that reflects directly on the impression the property makes.

Commercial entry doors throughout Cincinnati's retail and restaurant corridors deal with the heaviest contact of any glass surface we clean. Doors along Madison Road, Hyde Park Square, Rookwood Commons, and throughout the Blue Ash and Kenwood business districts get touched by hundreds of people every single day. Storm doors on residential properties throughout Greater Cincinnati and Butler County add an additional glass surface to the entry that collects the same contact grime as the primary entry door behind it.

Interior glass doors in offices, medical facilities, and modern open plan homes use glass extensively for passage doors, conference room enclosures, and room dividers. These interior glass doors collect fingerprints, smudges, and contact grime from both sides consistently throughout the day.

Our Glass Door Cleaning Process

We use a combination of our reverse osmosis water fed pole system and traditional mop and squeegee method for glass door cleaning depending on the specific door type, location, and condition.

For exterior glass doors where the water fed pole can be deployed effectively we use purified water delivered through a soft brush head to flush the full glass surface and frame. Purified water dries completely spot free and is particularly effective on exterior door glass that has significant pollen, dust, and weather exposure. For entry doors, patio doors, and exterior glass that has hard contact grime, fingerprints, and smudging that needs direct treatment we use a professional mop and squeegee approach. The mop applies cleaning solution to the full glass surface and lifts the contact grime and exterior debris. The squeegee removes it in clean controlled passes leaving the glass completely clear.

We clean around all hardware including handles, hinges, locks, and kick plates. Door hardware collects its own layer of grime and cleaning the glass while leaving dirty hardware around it makes the door look unfinished. We work carefully around every piece of hardware to clean the full glass surface right up to the edge without damaging or leaving residue on the hardware itself.

For interior glass door cleaning we use a mop and squeegee method with a low moisture approach that keeps water off the door frame, surrounding walls, and flooring. Interior glass doors in offices and commercial spaces get the same careful treatment as interior windows throughout the building.

Hard Water Staining on Glass Doors

Exterior glass doors in Cincinnati develop hard water staining from the same sources as exterior windows. Irrigation systems that hit the lower panels of patio doors and entry door sidelights leave mineral deposits that build up season after season. The lower exterior panels of sliding patio doors in homes throughout Montgomery, Madeira, and Indian Hill with irrigation systems are some of the most commonly stained glass surfaces we deal with.

We remove hard water staining from glass doors using Diamond Magic hard water stain remover applied with a microfiber scrub pad, the same process we use for hard water staining on windows. The Diamond Magic dissolves the mineral deposits that standard cleaning products can't touch and the microfiber pad provides the right level of agitation to lift the deposits from the glass surface without scratching. Glass doors that have developed a heavy white haze from years of sprinkler overspray come out completely clear after treatment.

Sliding Patio Door Tracks

Sliding patio door tracks collect debris in the same way window tracks do but typically at a higher volume because of the larger door size and the ground level exposure of the track channel. Leaves, dirt, mud, and debris accumulate in patio door tracks constantly, especially on doors that open to landscaped rear yards throughout Anderson Township, Montgomery, and the larger residential properties in Butler County.

Track cleaning on sliding patio doors is available upon request. We use the same brush, soapy mop, and towel method we use for window track cleaning to remove compacted debris from patio door track channels completely. Clean tracks make a significant difference in how smoothly patio doors slide and how well they seal when closed.

Interior and Exterior Glass Door Cleaning

We offer both interior and exterior glass door cleaning throughout Greater Cincinnati and Butler County. Exterior glass door cleaning covers the outside face of all door glass as part of our standard exterior service. Interior glass cleaning on doors is available upon request and covers the inside faces of all glass door surfaces in the home or building.

For homes and businesses that book exterior only service and want interior glass doors addressed as well, we include interior door glass cleaning as an add-on to the exterior service. The interior surfaces of high contact glass doors in homes and businesses accumulate a significant amount of fingerprints, smudging, and contact grime that exterior cleaning alone doesn't address. Booking both together gives you completely clean glass on every door surface from both sides.

How Long Does Glass Door Cleaning Take

Glass door cleaning is typically part of a broader window cleaning service rather than a standalone job. Door glass gets cleaned as part of the overall service visit covering all glass on the property. The time added by glass doors depends on the number of doors, the type of glass, and the condition of the surfaces. Properties with multiple sliding patio doors, French door configurations, and large entry door glass installations take more time than properties with a single standard entry door and one patio door.

We service homes and businesses throughout Greater Cincinnati and Butler County including Hyde Park, Anderson Township, Blue Ash, Kenwood, Mariemont, Montgomery, Madeira, Indian Hill, Oakley, Mount Lookout, West Chester, Mason, Oxford, Harrison, Loveland, and all surrounding areas. If your glass doors are the first thing visitors notice for the wrong reasons, call us and we will fix that.
